Chair

Born in Moss Side, I am passionate about the area and Manchester. I am the Group Executive Chairman of Fairhome Group PLC. We are specialist property developers in the supported living sector. With a turnover of £170 million and a substantial growth rate in terms of people and output, we are a very successful business.

I am part of a four strong Board, with eight Senior Heads, who have a wealth of experience to not only strengthen the company, but to ensure we meet our objectives and expectations of both our investors and customers.

Our business is built on strong foundations, in both bricks and mortar and in the type of people we employ. Fairhome is an ethically sound company who prides itself on changing the lives of our patrons permanently in the provision of forever homes.

I was part of Channel 5’s most popular real-life property series – ‘Cowboy Builders’ for ten series and seven years. This was a very diverse part of my career, but one which I thoroughly enjoyed. It gave me the confidence on camera and to talk about the industry I know so well – property and people.

I set up my own specialist property company – ‘Buy to Let’ with a turnover of £30 million.

From the age of eleven, I worked with my father and left school at 16 years of age. This gave me a strong work ethic which I have carried through to the present day.

I worked for my father’s business and played rugby from the age of 11. I left school at the age of 16 and whilst still working, started to play Rugby Union. I excelled in the sport and it enabled me to build a great network which influenced my perspectives on business and the opportunities it would bring. One of my proudest moments was to play for the Under 19s squad for England. Participating in sport gave me an invaluable discipline, enjoyment and social grounding

Fairhome’s nominated corporate Charity for 2017/18 is children’s charity ‘When you wish upon a star’. We also support local charities – Lancashire County Cricket Club, Broughton Park Rugby Club and Urmston Football club.

My wife and I wish to support the Diane Modahl Sports Foundation (DMSF) based on it’s principles and objectives and as it is a cause which is close to our hearts.

I am inspired and motivated by my family and my passion is my work. I believe in seizing every opportunity available and I am constantly learning and evolving both in business and as a person.

My sporting background has given me the foundation which I have depended on in all chapters of my life so far. Through sport I believe individuals can learn how to reach their potential both physically and mentally and apply this strength to all aspects of life.

I possess a strong never say die attitude.
